I’m a big fan of simulation and sandbox games. In some sense, they’re not computer games at all- they’re computer toys capable of mimicking systems too complex for plastic and wood.

From Cities: Skylines’ traffic simulation to Victoria III’s economic simulation, we’re living in a golden age of such toys… but I just can’t get my fix- there’s a hole left where Sim Earth once was. Why are there no games where I can drag around tectonic plates, rain down meteors, or freeze continents? It’d be fun, and even educational: players could see what happens when a current shuts down, when plates collide, or oxygen levels skyrocket.

This page (and linked blog posts) serve to catalog my work toward such a sim… as well as provide a download link!
